Moldova to join “Creative Europe” from 2026

From 1 January 2026, organizations, artists, and cultural professionals from Moldova will be eligible to participate in the Culture strand of the Creative Europe Programme and apply for EU funding under the same conditions as their counterparts from other European countries.

This is not Moldova’s first participation – the country was previously part of the programme during the 2014–2020 period, and now returns as the 41st participating country in the current cycle.

The accession agreement is currently in the process of ratification by the national parliament, after which Moldovan organizations will be able to fully benefit from the funding opportunities offered by the Culture sub-programme.

In the next phase, Moldova is expected to join the MEDIA sub-programme and fully participate in the Cross-sectoral strand, once its legislation is aligned with the EU standards on audiovisual media services.
