Cross-sectoral cooperation between the audiovisual sector and other cultural and creative sectors (CCS) is essential for this call. Project proposals must clearly demonstrate a cross-sectoral approach, the conditions for its implementation, and the expected benefits for the sectors involved in the project. The total budget allocated for this call is β¬5,001,863.
Objectives
The call aims to support:
- the green transition of the audiovisual and cultural and creative sectors (CCS), and/or
- the improvement of competitiveness, circulation, visibility, accessibility, diversity, and audience reach of European content across borders.
This support also aims to help these sectors adapt to opportunities provided by developments in artificial intelligence and virtual worlds.
Themes and Priorities
- Encourage new forms of creation at the intersection of different cultural and creative sectors, for example through experimental approaches and the use of innovative technologies.
- Strengthen innovative cross-sectoral approaches and tools that integrate multilingual and social dimensions, facilitating distribution, promotion, monetization, and access to culture and creativity, including cultural heritage.
The call will support organizations from various cultural and creative sectors, including those from the audiovisual sector, in designing and testing innovative solutions for key challenges that will have positive long-term impacts on the CCS.
Expected Impacts
- Improve the competitiveness of the European audiovisual sector and CCS in areas such as: transparency, data collection / big data, effective use of artificial intelligence, adaptation to current sectoral challenges and opportunities.
- Improve adaptation to opportunities offered by virtual worlds.
- Enhance the production, financing, and circulation of European audiovisual and cultural content in the digital age.
- Increase the visibility, accessibility, and diversity of European audiovisual and cultural content.
- Broaden the potential audience for European content.
- Accelerate the ecological transition of the European audiovisual sector and CCS, in line with the priorities of the European Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus initiative.
Projects should focus on one or more of the following topics:
- Virtual worlds as a new environment for promoting European content, audience development, and competitiveness of relevant European industries.
- Innovative business tools for production, financing, distribution, or promotion, enabled or enhanced by new technologies (e.g., AI, big data, blockchain, Metaverse, NFTs, etc.).
Priority will be given to activities such as:
- Rights management and monetization, including innovative subscription packages that offer access to diverse European cultural content from multiple existing European platforms, while ensuring transparency and fair remuneration for creators and artists.
- Data collection and analysis, with a focus on anticipating content trends and audience development, including innovative cross-sectoral tools that improve subscription service quality and better valorize European content offered on EU platforms.
- Greener practices aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the audiovisual and other cultural sectors, in line with the European Green Deal and New European Bauhaus.
Eligible Applicants
- Legal entities (private or public) established and registered in Creative Europe participating countries.
- Applications may be submitted by a single organisation or a consortium of at least two partners.
A wide range of organizations is encouraged to apply, including private and public bodies, tech companies and startups, as well as audiovisual, cultural, and creative organizations. Participation of business incubators and accelerators is especially encouraged to provide the necessary space and time for shaping creative ideas.
Project duration: Up to 24 months.
