This year, the European Heritage Label (EHL) has been awarded to 67 sites, spread across 275 locations in 22 EU Member States. With the continuous increase in the number of label holders, there is a growing need for stronger coordination, exchange of best practices, and enhanced visibility of EHL-related activities at both local and European levels.
Objective of the Call
The aim of the call is to identify an organization or consortium with proven capacity to use Europe’s historical and cultural heritage for citizen engagement, education, and information.
The selected organization will provide support to the network of EHL sites through:
Encouraging training and cooperation opportunities among stakeholders;
Promoting and increasing the visibility of EHL-related activities.
Role and Responsibilities
The selected organization or consortium will act as the Secretariat of the EHL sites network and will assist the sites in aligning their activities with the heritage, culture, and creative industries sectors, as well as with the education sector.
A special emphasis will be placed on directing resources towards community-level activities and site-level projects to ensure tangible benefits for citizens and the efficient use of funds.
The selected organization or consortium will cooperate with the existing network of 26 national coordinators to achieve the following results:
Increased visibility of the EHL in participating countries and among target audiences at both national and European levels;
Support and pre-selection of applications;
Continuous support and monitoring of EHL sites at the national level.
Capacity-building measures include:
Learning and skill development – strengthening the skills of EHL stakeholders, in coordination with European projects;
Networking and funding – providing financial support to EHL sites to implement their action plans;
Promoting cooperation among European bodies active in the heritage field.
